A new candidacy for the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic will be officially presented to the country on 11 July, marking the start of a political project that aims to renew the national debate and offer a solid and ambitious alternative to enhance the country.
"Candidate Raul Perestrello is a personality who will bring to the presidential campaign a vision centred on valuing Portugal and the Portuguese, social justice and active citizenship for all.
His candidacy aims to mobilise all those who believe in the need for leadership that is closer to the people and in mobilising the talent and resilience of the Portuguese to build a more dynamic nation with a strong international presence, reflecting, in democracy, their experiences and lifestyle, in particular those acquired during three decades of residence on the Australian continent," says the press release.
The official announcement will be made on 11 July at 6pm on the rooftop of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lisbon, at an event open to the media, where the project's guidelines, the values that underpin it and the main axes of this presidential candidacy will be presented.
"Portugal needs new approaches, new voices and new energy to enhance itself and face the challenges of the present and the future. This candidacy is born out of this call to valorise the country and the Portuguese," Raul Perestrello points out.
More information about the candidate, the campaign team and the next steps will be released at the launch event and through the official channels of the candidacy.
