Raul Perestrello presented himself as a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in Lisbon.

Madeiran businessman Raul Perestrello has announced his intention to run in the 2026 presidential elections, promising to transform Portugal into a "modern and dynamic" country that "honours its traditions".

According to JM-Madeira, in a press release Perestrello points out that "Portugal needs new approaches, new voices and new energy in order to valorise itself and face the challenges of the present and the future".
